Senior Communications Officer Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council

Residents and groups across the borough are being encouraged to help shape the borough’s future approach to community and sports facilities.

Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council is currently updating its Leisure and Recreation Needs Assessment. This assessment will form a framework for establishing the borough’s future approach to open space, sport and recreation, including consideration of how community buildings, playing pitches and indoor sport facilities are serving community needs.

With more residents across the borough spending more time in their communities as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the updated Leisure and Recreation Needs Assessment will ensure the council can provide support where it is needed most.

Community and sport associations and groups, residents and users of community and sports facilities across the borough are being encouraged to share their views by taking part in a short online survey.

To complete the community and sports facilities surveys, visit:

We are also particularly keen to hear from parish and town councils to help shape the playing pitch strategy. The survey is available here:

Please do help us to shape the future of community and sport and leisure facilities in the borough by sharing this with your communities.
