Come and join us for a lovely family day at Wootton St Lawrence - home of Charles Butler, father of English Beekeeping.

Experience the secret life of bees through local market stalls, beekeeping workshops, demonstrations, crafts, activities, short talks and presentations and much more!

•    Learn what is take for you to help sustain our Bee population of Solitary Bees, Bumble Bees, and Honey Bees, integral to our well being

Family friendly activities for adults and children to enjoy

•     Honey tasting workshop - how good are your taste buds!

•    Bee and wildlife face-painting

•    Wild flower “seed bombing”

•    Wildlife and wild flower activities

•    Learn how to make a traditional bee hive [Skep]

•    Observe through the looking glass a bee hive in action.

•    “Did I tell you that Bee Story” …… and more !

Come, listen and wonder at the Bee Story presentations and discussion that is taking place inside Wootton Church from 1pm

•    Wild flowers to produce the nectar and pollen

•    Discover the bee families - Solitary, Bumble, and Honey Bees

•    Discover past and present beekeeping practises

•    Learn how bees are making difference in communities

•    Find out why Charles Butler pastor of Wootton Church and Father of English Beekeepers is so important to beekeepers worldwide

There is only a small car parking fee to cover our costs, entry is free, and we have an amazing prize draw raffle

Prizes include champagne mead, signed books, and many other mouth-watering prizes. All proceeds will go to Wootton Church funds to help their community.

The Bee Story coming to you on Saturday 6th August RG23 8PE includes:

•   Beekeepers new season honey and bee cosmetics

•   Wild flower demonstrations and flower arranging

•    Bee Muddy family garden demonstrations

•    Kids Corner - Face-painting, seek and find, ask questions gain knowledge

•    Hampshire Wildlife Trust

•    Bumble Bee Conservation Trust

•   Traditional Bee Hive demonstrations

Listen out for the church chimes during the afternoon and wandering minstrels!

          Fayre begins 11am, Workshops inside begin 1pm, Thanksgiving for the new season honey harvest 4pm

Wootton Church pastoral home to Charles Butler whom in 1623 published The Feminine Monarchie and is acknowledged as the Father of English Beekeeping
